Volunteer Information

Volunteering to be a worker at the CHALKSale can be a fun way to earn the privilege of shopping even before the Pre-Sale! (You do not have to consign books to enjoy this privilege) Work 1 shift and earn the priviledge to SHOP FIRST!  Work 2 shifts and also earn FREE registration (a $5.00 value)

Some jobs to be done involve organizing books, display tables, signs, manning the check-in and check-out tables, assisting shoppers, keeping the tables organized, setting up, and cleaning up.  When volunteering, keep in mind that shifts requiring set up or clean up will be the most physical.  If you have any physical limitations I would suggest volunteering for other shifts or letting me know of those limitations so I can plan accordingly. (ie: helping check-in rather than lifting books, setting up tables, etc.)

You may request your most convenient shifts (list three shifts and we will try to accommodate).

All volunteers are to arrive 15 minutes before your shift begins to receive instructions.  Volunteers may not bring children under the age of 12.  Older children are welcome to accompany you if they are willing to help with the shift responsibilities.
